Travel Auli UK
We planned our trip on Feb 2020 after deciding for almost 4 years ,i was deciding such trip before marraige but always retreated due to expenses.
Ultimately i,sarwan and sunil planned to go on this trip.it was day 1st Feb 2020 that we ulitmately decided .I have already taken a lot of leaves due to helath issue and for Driving licence of mine.
but finally idecided to go at the last moment.We took Ola Cab for 1 st Feb.The route was from Meerut Expressway to Rishikesh (halt) to Auli Joshimath.We were joined by one more friend his name is kundu he is our friend from Kolkata.
He brought 1 whisky bottle with himself which we will be sharing in the trip.
We drank in the 1st half and sleept a little bit
We halted at one small resturant on expressway i was a little cold at that time as it was a open space.
We had our breakfast mainly partaha and chantani and curd i was extremely testy the butter the provided was home made and it was tasty.
We had our tea after breakfast and we contunue with our journey from there.Till now we are going through highways.Finnally we arrived at rishikesh ferom there i started seeing mountains and river side by side it is a picturesque things for me as i have never seen such chain of hills altogether.
There were greeneries on the Mountain and river were flowing in the valley there were lots of hotel near the bank of the river it was about i think 2 o clock some of us decided to remain here and have our noon food but we finally decided to reach srinagar as soon as possible so that our next day would not waste.Our cab was fined as the driver was without proper insurance,we gave 500 rs or 1000 rs i donot remenber exactl as thaty money was to be adjusted in the fare.We contune after paying the fine .We we climbingthe mountains chain the terrain was really rough and there were cut at every 1 min as we were ascending the mountains the road we made out of cutting the mountains if we fall from the mountain we will fall in the river flowing below us at that time.
The mountains make we visualise them as a realistic things like an old guy very old man or rishi whom we always sees and here in our hindu mithology who are doing tap in the and grass and plants have grown due to there static postion they have seen a 10000 of years on this earth or even more then that the have seend changes which occur sin thousand years i fee repect and fear altogether for them.I also old days rishi and kings who were retreating to moutains with there fellows for wanaprasth a ritual practise in hindu culture after 50 years of age and then moksha. I could see them travelling along the river side to reach the Mountain as this was the only source to go to top its acts as a map as the river source is from galcier which resides in Mountians.They would drink river wate and eats fruits from Mountain or some raw food with them to be eaten while travelling.I could see there kutia on the river side.
We halted at the above location to have some snacks so that we can continue with our next journey,
we had our paneer pakora and tea there the pakora were really crispy we could not understand what he used in it but after returing from our journey when we halted here again we saw that the guy used eggs in the pakora for making it crispy.
Our next destination was srinagar were we decided to have our dinner and then stay at some hotel there and continue our journey for Auli.
We wenr through the hills soon it become dars there were harldy any light on the hills the only light source was car headlight and some times the light from the construction work going on the hills.
There we some light from the village on the mounains from distant place it looks almost like stars in the space.Meanehile travelling our frind kundu saw a wine shop so we took some beer and whisky bottle from there.We dranks in the car and stared some songs.I was almost 9 pm when we reached Srinagar.By then we had good friendship with cab driver his name is Deepak and he is from Etah UP.
As we reached Srinagar in the night most the resturant were already shut usaully common in small town.We managed to get 2 room in a hotel near by it was before a Police Station it was a surrounded by Hills both sides i was little cold there so the Police men had lit some wood for fire in the compound of the hills.On looking at the hills i thought what the feeling will be if i am able to climb on it.After securing room we locked the car and went with Deepak to have our food to a nearby veg resturant we hade roti mixed veg and pulse we asked for onion but the guy denied as there was onion crisis as that time,after the dinner we went to the hotel we decided to leave Srinagar early in the morning anfd have our breakfast in Joshimath.After putting our mobile we went to sleep sarwan and i share a common room sunil and Kundu share other.I and Sarwan wake up early in the morning we went outside to take a glimpse of the morning in the mountains we also had our tea in a a nearby shop the guy gave us tea in steel glass which was really testy and reamins hot for longer time i noticed one common things in the animals at this place they have extra hairs they were more hairy then our cows and dogs may be to counter the extreme cold temperature here.
After having our tea we went to hotel to make our self ready for next phase of travel we clean ourself i decided to bath but taking the cold water in consideration and absent of gyser i dropped the plan and just wash my face and feet.We then went to sunil and kindu room and went toDeepak room he was already ready as we woke him when we were going out for tea.After claering the money we went to our cab and prepared for next halt at Joshimath.
We went towards Joshimath at around 7 oclock we decided to buy basic ammenties there and also take out cash as in hills everything happens on cash Sarwan told me how he fell in such a messy situation when he went to hills previously with less chas no network was there so online transfer was not possible there.We reched Joshimath at around 9 oclock we parked out Toyota to nearby empty locations were we had some snapshots with the small canal that was flowng near the place the water was crystal clear an it was a little cold at that time.We went to nearby Dhaba most a family of husband wife was running it the wife was tall and beautiful and she prepared paratha and chola for us were we were given onion and vinegar dipped chillies which we enjoyed very much,we had our tea in steel glass there ,we then bouhght some hand gloves for us as we thought we will be not getting any things once we reaches Auli.
No we were prepared for our long journey to Aul from there we sat on our cab and adjusted accordingly we often changes seat like one who was sitting in front seat would go at the back and vice versa.From there the actual Mountains started we were travelling from oe Mountains to other like snake i was really afraid how much patience is requires drive on this type of terrain.
We use to halt between the places to have urinal and would taks some snapsots as well .
We had our tea in steel glass and biscuits when we halt at seeing some small tea shop.The road were uneven and lots of construction were going on to cut the Hills from side to prevent the debris from falling as people were cutting trees to make road and the roots which holds the debris when absent causes landslide on Mountains.What a pictursque location it was in the rocky settlemet when we saw some small villages in between them they we so much green and beautiful that if i would have money i would buy a plot here.Sun light were seen falling on the Mountains fron our cab we saw that some part of hills were getting straight some ligh some were due to there location were in shed and were cooler due to this.
We saw a lots of houses were made on hills but cutting them in cantour shape how the village people walk to city from such a high place during rainy days or some other difficult situation.
While going towards Auli we got small fountains which make me remember my childhood days we called them Jharna or a Small Mt Waterfall i touced one such Jharna when our car halted at such a place for urinal.The water was clean as happens to be on hills and extremely cold people used to drink this water on hillsUltimately we got the vision of Milky Mountains i thoght that it was a white Mountain not snow as i have never seen Snow Laden Mt in mine life my friends Sunil and Sarwan told me that i is due to snow on them and thogh it appears nearby its ery far away due to its large size it seems nearby.
So we begin enoying the White Mt Vison and the terrain we were passing through i was amazed how many people were going there as there was congestion whenever there were construction going on,in Mt every days some construction works are going on as the rock and debris keeps on falling and roads needs to clear for smooth moment.At some place we see roots covering the hills some where water gushing from the hills and some were dangerous debris on the hills which seems to fall on us when we went below them.

We reached Auli in the afternoon we were suppose to go to the market for finding a room but since there were two roads going and by mistake we took the uphill road which resulted in dead end .
This was the first time when i saw snow on the road we asked the people nearby about the market they advisce to took the downhill way.
We took that way and after confronting army camp and asking way from an army men we reached the market now the we look at some room in the market but the price was too high and room was not so cosy so on the advisce of sunil we went to the outskirt for a cheaper deal we saw one hotel but the too was costly and just infront of the hotel we got the hotel below which was really not so costly it charges 500 rs per bed per day we took two room in one room i and sarwan were set and other room Abshiek and Sunil was set we were tied of long drive and so we took shower and some hot tea and the motel guy order food for us we ate the food and went to the market in the evening to explore the area it was almost 8 oclock there was a temple nearby so we decided to go there we drank tea in the market and discuss with the shopkeeper how did they reached at such a remote place
We saw the temple and then return to our home after we already had our food ready so we sat together to eat we also summoned the driver to eat with us to which the motel guy said we are such a good man to allow them to eat with us.

Then we slept it was really cold there they called the mountin in the back yard of the hotel sleeping beauty
Next day we prepared to go to the uphill were the snow are the motel guy gave us a lot of stories and he also told us one fruit name call Malta its looks like Orange but its very much sour
He also told us that he has a brother who is handicapped so he is working out home he also told us that there would be a ice skating in next week and so a lots of foreigner will come he told that previous year a couple slided on the snow in front of the hotel and the guy broke his hand his hand got swelled so he was sky lifted to nearby hospital he alos told hilariuos story about a couple of girls highly drugged came outsode and was sitting without wearing anything he also told that he got some injection in the room and he tested them on dog and the dog could not be seen for almost 2 days .
We took the rented boots the and the jackets as well the googles.We took the ticket and waited for our
turn.
The last night in Auli we cooked i.e sarwan cooked the desi chicken and we drank a little whicky it was cold outside so the motel guy on our advisce burnt some wood we enjoyed our night well we alos share our food with the 2 dogs at the motel the plate which can be seen behind us is for the dog and then went t to sleep we wake in the morning and after clearing the money we went to our home
